Ark-2

I revisited Ark 1 to inform this typology. This design is a take on a local vernacular A-frame mountain cabin. I extruded the form and opened up the front porch with operable walls of glass. The concept is to diffuse the relationship between indoor and outdoor living while creating a clean and dynamic contemporary interior. The vaulted ceiling in the Great Room decompresses the home creating a light filled airy interior. I used storefront glazing in the master loft to enhance the visual phenomenon looking through the home to the forest creating a tree house sensation. I separated the self-contained guest studio from the main house with the attached 2 vehicle garage. The guest studio mimics the main house in form. The guest loft has storefront glazing that looks out and through the smaller covered porch to the forest beyond. There is privacy and delight designed into all aspects of the unique home.

Here we have my newest Ark. An 1,850 sqft sqft 3 bedroom 2 bath with a 400 sqft studio apartment. Set to go into construction in Winter 2022
